Kitchen garden under creation at New Hostel, IGNFA

Daily food waste tracking graph at the New Hostel Mess
Comparison with the month of March showsa decrease in quantum of food waste from 5kg per day to 4.3 kg per day
In a first time initiative, all biodmedical waste from the Hostels now goes to FRI Hospital for responsible incineration, The current system took 3 months to plan and execute.
The model of segregating clean plastic waste for recycling started at the Hostels in January 2023 was extended to the IGNFA Pavilion in April.

The seedlings at the IFS Probationers Nursery, The work started in February 2023. The plants would soon be ready to be given out as part of social outreach /sensitization activities on the conservation of forestry and medicinal species.
The Literary Club, IGNFA organized an All India Essay Writing Competition on the theme of Sustainable Solutions to Plastic Pollution (Submission ended on the Earth Day and results shall be announced on the World Environment Day)
