Joint training courses for IAS, IPS and IFS were started by Govt. of India in the year 2009 at the behest of Prime Minister’s Office with a view to bring together serving officers of the three All India Services to sensitize them on wide ranging issues concerning General Administration, Law and Order, Ecological Security etc. . These courses began with the aim of improving cohesiveness in the functioning and to enhance camaraderie among the three services. Since then IGNFA, LBSNAA and SVPNPA are conducting such courses every year. IGNFA conducts these joint training programmes for officers at District levels i.e., Collectors, SPs and DFOs from various states of the country.
Changed paradigm of forest management demands support of all stakeholders of the sector. Academy therefore has also started sensitization programmes for stakeholders other than foresters. Presently, short duration programs for members of higher judiciary, Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Revenue Service and Indian Railway Traffic Service are conducted.
