Experience Prior to IGNFA

Central Deputation: Worked as IGF and Director in MoEF&CC New Delhi in two different tenures. Dealt with implementation of Green India Mission, service matters of IFS, Survey & Utilization, Forest Fire, Combating Desertification and Forest Conservation.

While serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power New Delhi, handled matters related to transmission, played a major role in successful completion of important transmission lines, facilitated cross-border electricity trade with neighbouring countries, and facilitated establishment of POSOCO as a full-fledged company.

Worked as Associate Professor in IGNFA and served as Course Director and Controller of Examination besides taking up regular sessions of Forest Mensuration, RS & GIS and Environmental Conservation.

State Government: Worked in various capacities in the State Forest Department including CCF(T) and Member Secretary, State Biodiversity Board. Was instrumental in establishment of the SFDA.

Also served as Principal Secretary Mines & Geology Department and in the Planning & Development Department and Director, Department of Science & Technology Established Patent Information Centre in Sikkim.
