Ajeeta Longjam is a 2012 Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officer from Manipur. She completed her graduation in Zoology (Honours) from Miranda House, Delhi University and her name was listed in the Miranda House Annual Roll of Honour (2007-08). She then obtained her Masters in Zoology from Delhi University after which she qualified for CSIR-UGC NET with JRF, twice. She is a gold medalist from the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, and is also the recipient of the ‘Spirit of 1982’ for exhibiting Best Communication Skills from the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun.
Having served in various capacities under the State Government of Manipur, she is currently under Central deputation to the Government of India, where she had earlier worked as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Forests at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) looking after National CAMPA and the National Afforestation and Eco-Development Board (NAEB). She was later posted under the Ministry of Education as Joint Commissioner in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS). She was looking after Administration after she joined IGNFA under MoEF&CC from October, 2024 till Oct, 2025.
She is presently assigned as the Course Director of the IFS (P) 2025-27 Batch (Professional Training of the Indian Forest Service Probationers– the 57th RR).
