IGNFA organized a two-day module for IFS (P) 2013-15 Course on
“Environmental Governance” during 1-2 June 2015. The module was inaugurated by Sh. Vinod Kumar, Director, IGNFA and conducted by Dr. Mohit Gera, Professor (IST). The objectives of the module were: understanding of issues involved in Prevention and Control of Pollution in India and appreciation of key role of different players; understanding of the Environmental Governance framework in India; International Conventions and Commitments; and role of IFS officers in Environmental Governance.
A “Panel discussion” on “Environmental Governance” was also organized which was chaired by Sh. Vinod Kumar, Director, IGNFA. Inputs were provided by key resource persons like Sh. R. K. Goel, Former Director, IGNFA; Sh. Debal Ray, CCF, West Bengal; Dr. C. M. Seth, Former Chairperson, J&K, SPCB; Sh. Vinod Singhal, Member Secretary, UKSPCB; Dr Deep Narayan Pandey, Member Secretary, RSMPB; Dr. Mohit Gera, Professor (IST), IGNFA; Sh. Vijay Kumar, Member Secretary, KSPCB; and Sh. Deepak Mishra, Additional Professor, IGNFA.
