JOINT TRAINING FOR IAS, IPS AND IFS
First Joint training for the year 2013-14 for the three All India Services was conducted by IGNFA from 21st to 24th May, 2013.
A total of 25 participants attended the training program. This program was inaugurated by Sh. Indu.K.Pandey, Financial Advisor to
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and ex-Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand state.
Theme of the training was " Ecological Security: Sensitization on Key Environmental/Forestry Issues".
Under this, inputs on topics Biodiversity Conservation: Issues and Challenges, Climate Change and Human Response, Naxalism and Forest Management,
Conservation and Development, Man Animal Conflict and Illegal Wildlife Trade were covered. Resource Persons included Sh. P.R.Sinha, Director Wildlife
Institute of India, Dr. Mohit Gera, Additional Professor, IGNFA, Sh. D.M. Mitra, Additional Director General of Police M.P., Sh. Azam Zaidi, Additional
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests incharge of Lucknow Regional Office of MoEF, Sh. S.K. Patnaik, Member CEC and Sh. Rajat Bhargava from TRAFFIC INDIA.
Keeping in view the purpose of this training, a panel discussion on the topic "Inter Services Co-ordination" was also conducted.
Panel was chaired by Dr. R.B.S.Rawat, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Uttarakhand. A one day field visit to Dhanaulti Ecotourism Project
was also included as part of the program. In this participants were shown the concept of ecotourism in practice and involvement of local communities
in such ventures.
