H.E. Begum Ismat Ara Sadique, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh visited Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy on 6th May 2014. She addressed the IFS Probationers 2014-16 course, SFS Probationers and Faculty of IGNFA and CASFoS.
During the course of address, Hon’ble Minister said that Bangladesh gives highest priority to the friendship with India. She said that India has well developed Civil Service system and Bangladesh is in the process of building up the system to meet the day to day challenges.
Bangladesh is one of the country worst affected by natural disaster and it is aware that global warming can have catastrophic consequence for the country. Every year it is facing one or the other. She also said that sundarbans has always played a major role in protecting the country from cyclones. She also said that there is a need of greater interaction between civil servants of both the countries to get the better of expertise developed by both the countries.
During her interaction with the IFS and SFS probationers she emphasised that Civil Servants should work with zeal and humility to serve the society. She also informed that Bangladesh is giving priority to Women’s Education for empowerment. Girl students are given free books as well as stipend to ensure their enrolment in the schools.
During her visit, she was accompanied by Dr. Abdul Hamid, Deputy Secretary,Md. Shahriar Kader Siddiky, Deputy Secretary, and Md. Abdul Halim, Additional Secretary to Government of Bangladesh.
