A lecture on
“Contribution of Forest Service in National Development”
was organized by Commomwealth Forestry Association (South Asia Region) under
its CFA Lecture Series Programme on 9th November 2016 at New Hostel Auditorium of
Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy. Dr. J. C. Nautiyal, Professor Emeritus,
Toronto University, Canada delivered the lecture on different qualities of a professional forester,
the challenging role the service offers, and their contribution to National Development.
He also emphasized on the last words of Lord Buddha “Atma Deepo Bhava”
which means “Be your own light” .
The session was followed by brief interaction with the audience and screening of film on
“Celebrating 50 Years of IFS”.

The program ended with vote of thanks by Sh. S. P. Badoni of CFA.
